Popular Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon has announced a brand-new video game adaptation ahead of the airing of the show's third season later this year.
Game of Thrones: Dragonfire seemingly features fan-favourite character Rhaenyra Targaryen as it places players into the shoes of a Valyrian descendant.
"Drawing inspiration from events portrayed in House of the Dragon, players will experience a new narrative as a Valyrian descendant tasked with hatching, raising and flying dragons," begins the synopsis.
"Fans will encounter both familiar faces and original characters, form alliances and factions with other players, as well as engage in tactical battles to become a true dragonrider and dominant force in Westeros."
Game of Thrones: Dragonfire classifies itself as a strategy title and will launch as a free-to-play release across both the App Store and Google Play.

Yes, that means that this one's mobile only for now, following in the footsteps of several other Game of Thrones video game adaptations.

While the game's reveal trailer is mainly comprised of glossy cinematic scenes that won't exactly reflect the quality of the final product, you can catch a glimpse of gameplay at the very end of the trailer.
Within that gameplay, we see a player laying siege to a settlement atop the back of a dragon.
It goes without saying that there are going to be plenty of people disappointed that, yet again, the Game of Thrones franchise is unwilling to release anything more ambitious than a mobile game.
What we're all desperate for is an open-world RPG akin to Skyrim or Crimson Desert. Imagine how amazing it would be to venture beyond The Wall, encountering the army of the Night King.
At the other end of the map, you could engage in naval warfare on the shores of King's Landing. Perhaps one day a game of that ilk will land but for now, we'll have to settle for Game of Thrones: Dragonfire.
If Game of Thrones: Dragonfire has captured your attention, you can actually pre-register for the game now. That way, you'll be informed of all important developments and updates in the lead-up to the game's launch at an unspecified date later this year.
It's perhaps not a stretch to assume that Game of Thrones: Dragonfire could land within or near to June considering that House of the Dragon's third season begins airing that month.
