We've had a fresh launch of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, with the second instalment in the brand-new Harry Potter audiobook series available on Audible this week. And one of its stars wants to return but to the TV series of the same series.
In collaboration with Pottermore Publishing, multiple A-list celebrities have recently lent their voice to the new audiobook series based on the Harry Potter book series by J.K. Rowling.
Debuting in November with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, each of the seven books will be released once per month up until 26 May and with such a stacked cast, fans are excited to hear some familiar voices.
One of which will be Kit Harington who is best known for playing Jon Snow in Game of Thrones. Now joining another beloved fantasy series, this time as the wizarding celebrity Gilderoy Lockhart, this is quite a different role for the English actor than we are used to seeing.

Just yesterday, we were treated to a sneak peek of Harington’s performance in Audible’s Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets as he embodied the role of Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher.
Not only that but Harington is joined by some of his fellow Game of Thrones cast members such as Robert Baratheon’s Mark Addy taking on the role of Hagrid, Ramsay Bolton’s Iwan Rheon as Professor Lupin and Yara Greyjoy’s Gemma Whelan voicing Professor Sprout.
For Harington, however, after growing up as a huge Harry Potter fan, this role is a dream come true and if possible, he would love to star in any future live-action projects set in the wizarding world.

The Dreams of a Major Fan
Speaking to Variety, Harington was asked about his relationship with the Harry Potter saga.
“I’m a big book nerd,” he shared.
“I never really got into the movies so much. I did watch them, but I didn’t come to it through them.
"I loved the books when I was growing up. I was one of those people who was given the book - I was 11 and Harry was 11. I grew up with them.”
After revealing that he was perhaps “too old” to be cast in the original Harry Potter movie series, the actor expressed his desire to be a part of it in the future.
When asked if he would want to star in the upcoming live-action Harry Potter television show, Harington replied, “I’d take on any of them.
"I’ll be a background extra, I don’t care. I would love to be in that.”
On the other hand, when asked about a potential Game of Thrones audiobook, he felt quite differently.
“No, god no,” he replied after being asked if he would return to voice Jon Snow.
“I don’t wanna go anywhere near it. I spent 10 years doing that. Thanks, I’m alright.”
So it would seem as though Harington’s future rests solely within the hands of the casting directors for HBO’s Harry Potter but for now, you can hear him portray Gilderoy Lockhart in Audible’s Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
