Warner Bros is on the hunt for the new faces of Harry Potter, though fans aren’t ready to let go of the past just yet.

As I’m sure we all know by this point the Harry Potter franchise is getting a reboot, but instead of redoing the films it’ll instead take the form of a HBO Max TV series instead.

You can see the teaser for the TV series below

There’s already been a lot of backlash to the decision to reboot the franchise, not just because it’s been done before but because of its ties to J.K Rowling, who’s still being criticised for several comments about the trans community.

HBO Max is going ahead with the series though and has now put out a casting call for its leading roles.

The crew is currently on the hunt for actors to play Harry Potter and his two best friends Ron Weasely (the best character in the series) and Hermione Granger.

Young actors are being selected for the role, probably in the hopes that they’d stick around for future seasons and age along with the story.

It’s unknown when the roles will be handed out, but it’s speculated that filming for the series will begin sometime in 2025.

Fans are still a little mixed on the reboot, with many angry about the aforementioned ties to J.K Rowling and others simply wondering why Warner Bros would want to ruin a good thing with the Harry Potter film series.

“What a sad way to ruin such iconic movies. Why can’t we leave good things alone on the shelves?” asked one Harry Potter fan.

“It's going to be a field day when the cast is revealed” added another.

It’s unknown when the actors will be unveiled, but I’m sure everyone will have a completely normal reaction to it.
