breaking news

Grab your wands as it's almost time to go back to Hogwarts. Finally, the very first trailer for HBO's upcoming Harry Potter TV show has arrived.
The TV reboot was met with a mixed reception when originally announced. After all, the original film series remains as beloved today as when the final instalment dropped 14 years ago.
The idea of moving on to a reimagining felt, well, preposterous. Already though, HBO's version of the story appears to have secured the attention of fans with its charming cast, book accurate intentions, and more in-depth storytelling.
HBO's Harry Potter intends to adapt one book per season meaning there's much more time to tell each segment of this story.

That story begins with Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, or Sorcerer's Stone in the US, and today's first-ever trailer reveals what this latest version of that story is going to look like.

The series will star Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley when it comes to our golden trio, all of whom appear in the trailer.
It lands after a first-look photo arrived just yesterday showing our new Potter in his Quidditch gear.
That's now been followed by a much better look at this new version of the Wizarding World with the trailer offering glimpses of Paapa Essiedu as Snape, Janet McTeer as McGonagall, Nick Frost as Hagrid, and John Lithgow as Dumbledore.
The trailer begins with Harry's troubled muggle life before he encounters Hagrid and begins his journey to Hogwarts.
The iconic Hogwarts Express appears on Platform 9 3/4 before the first year students make their way into the castle for the first time.
While this all feels very familiar, there is an element of newness about it. For example, a shot of the castle's entrance features far more ornate rock work than we see in those original films.
The trailer then cycles through a quick succession of glimpses at the moving staircases, the house common rooms, the greenhouse, the Quidditch pitch, and more all narrated by Lithgow's Dumbledore.
The acting from the young leads already looks very impressive. It's clear that they exude charisma.
Perhaps the most exciting reveal comes at the end of the trailer. We now know that the first season will be titled Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, plus it's set to arrive sooner than expected.
The season will premiere "Christmas 2026" so we're talking December of this year.
Let the countdown begin.
