Amazon has reportedly cast another major character in its upcoming live action God of War television series.
According to a new report by Deadline, Amazon has cast Australian actress Teresa Palmer in the God of War TV series currently in development.
Palmer will allegedly play Phoebe/Sif, the wife of Thor and Norse goddess of Wheat, Earth, Harvest and Family.
She appears in God of War: Ragnarok during the segments of the game set in Asgard, seemingly confirming that parts of the series will delve into the Norse gods and their affairs while Kratos and Atreus’ story unfolds in Midgard.

For context, many of the Norse gods do not appear in God of War (2018), but show up in its sequel, Ragnarok. So it sounds like Amazon might be introducing these characters early in order to better establish them.
Palmer’s addition makes this the second announcement regarding God of War’s cast list, following Ryan Hurst as Kratos earlier this week. In the game, Sif was voiced by Emily Rose, who also played Elena Fisher in the Uncharted series.
Palmer is best known for appearing as Dorothy Schutte in the WWII biographical film Hacksaw Ridge, as well as her roles in horror films like Warm Bodies and Lights Out. She also starred as Diana Bishop in the fantasy TV series, A Discovery of Witches.

Amazon's God Of War TV Series Has Now Cast Two Major Characters
The God of War show has a two-season order so far, presumably with Season 1 focusing on the events of God of War (2018), and Season 2 portraying the events of Ragnarok.

Pre-production is already underway in Vancouver, and it’s likely that we’ll hear more casting announcements in the weeks to come. Filming is due to begin in March.
Characters who have still yet to be cast include Atreus, Mimir, Freya, and Baldur. If Sif is also set to appear in the television series, this also means we could be getting casting announcements for Thor, Odin, and Heimdall.
God of War (2018) is a reboot of the classic series of the game, following father and son Kratos and Atreus as they journey up a mountain to spread the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye.
Meanwhile, its sequel deals with the fallout of events that transpired at the end of the first game, and introduces a wider pantheon of Norse gods as antagonists for the pair.
