Elder Scrolls 6 May Not be the Only New Entry on the Way

We might get this before The Elder Scrolls VI

It seems like The Elder Scrolls VI might not be the only entry in Bethesda’s fantasy series that’s on the way, or so it may seem.

You’d be totally forgiven if you forgot that The Elder Scrolls VI is a thing. That being said, if you’re a devoted fan of Bethesda’s fantasy RPG series, you’ve probably been counting down the days since it was revealed at E3 2018.

Well, when I say “counting down the days”, we’ve technically got no days to count down. Sure, we know that the next entry in The Elder Scrolls series is on the way, but at the time of writing, we’ve had no release date or even a gameplay trailer.

At this point, it might be safe to assume that The Elder Scrolls VI could be a next-gen title; however, there is still a chance that it could be shadow-dropped, much like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered was earlier this year.

But it seems that we might get another entry in The Elder Scrolls series, but rather than a video game, it could be a TV production. Which would make some sense, considering the success of the live-action Amazon series on Prime Video, Fallout.

Could The Elder Scrolls Follow Fallout?

When speaking to Eurogamer about the upcoming season two of Fallout, when asked about an Elder Scrolls TV series, Bethesda’s Todd Howard never ruled out the possibility of that happening by saying, “You never know.”

Sure, that’s not much to go on, but I’d assume that a live-action adaptation has been under consideration behind closed doors at Bethesda for a while, whether it’s a TV series or a movie.

If I were going to make a guess, I’d assume that any adaptation of The Elder Scrolls might happen around the release of the highly anticipated sixth entry. That way, the video game and the adaptation can capitalise on each other.

That being said, any adaptation of The Elder Scrolls is very likely to be years away, but of course, we’ll update you once we learn more. Watch this space, as they say.

As for The Elder Scrolls VI or even Fallout 5, that’s anyone’s guess at this point as to when either might be released, but we’ll keep you posted nonetheless.

Season two of Fallout will premiere on Prime Video on 17 December 2025. So you have just over a week to get caught up with events in season one.
