Throughout his time as the Caped Crusader, Batman finds himself facing off against all manner of interesting villains but our new-look at one of the most iconic is guaranteed to give us nightmares for weeks.

Coming head-to-head with villains such as the Joker, Bane, the Riddler, and Scarecrow to name but a few, Bruce Wayne has always had his hands full when it comes to cleaning up the streets of Gotham.

Check out Mr. Freeze in action in the trailer below!

However, one iconic villain has received a makeover for Absolute Batman #8 and thanks to the huge alterations in their look, fans are left feeling divided.

The villain in question is none other than Mr. Freeze.

Initially debuted in Batman #121 in 1959, Mr. Freeze is the name of two villains: first Mr. Zero, who was a mad scientist who after a slight mishap, found himself becoming an ice-themed criminal who became an adversary of Batman.

Then in 1992, Mr. Freeze was reimagined as a tragic villain known as Victor Fries who suffers an accident after attempting to cryogenically preserve his terminally ill wife.

As a result, he turns to crime to find a way to cure his wife, bringing him into conflict with Batman.

Previously depicted as a humanoid figure, albeit with a blue skin tone and a whole lot of gadgets, Absolute Batman #8 has introduced a whole-new design for Mr. Freeze, making him look a lot more monstrous.

Designed by Brian Bolland, our new-look at Mr. Freeze was shared over on r/AbsoluteUniverse and fans were quick to share their thoughts.

“I still can't believe they made him Nosferatu,” the top comment by M00r3C read.

Another said: “I am eating this s**t up!!! So hyped for all the Absolute runs!”

In amongst comparisons to Nosferatu, it seems as though fans are generally hyped about this new design and can’t wait to see the new Mr. Freeze in action as the Absolute Batman series continues.
