Batman will once again get a new face in the coming years, as James Gunn’s DC film universe kicks off with Superman this Summer.
Superman will be the starting point for many more DC films, introducing several key characters and concepts, like the Green Lanterns for instance.
It’s looking like a banger, but how will it hold up in comparison to the Superman films that came before it?
After the Man Of Steel’s next adventure, it’ll be Batman that gets another big-screen adaptation, though it’s been confirmed this won’t interfere with Matt Reeves' Batman films, those are in a separate continuity.

While an actor hasn’t been announced for the role yet fans have plenty of ideas for who should wear the cape and cowl next, many of which have proved their superhero worth in the Marvel Cinematic Universe already.
At the top of the list is Sebastian Stan, who you can catch as Bucky Barnes again in Thunderbolts* this weekend.
His name has been thrown around a lot for the Dark Knight, with many believing he’d do a great job of playing both Bruce Wayne and Batman respectively.
“Sebastian is my pick,” said one fan in a Reddit thread discussing casting choices, with another adding, “I like Sebastian Stan a lot for it honestly.”

Other popular choices include Reacher star Alan Ritchson, who’s expressed interest in the role in the past, as well as Wilson Bethel who plays Bullseye in Daredevil: Born Again and Season 3 of the Netflix series, of course.
Personally, I think Sebastian Stan would be a great choice as well, as he’s got the look, the experience of working in a superhero role, and does great work with combat choreography. Imagine him flipping a batarang the same way he flips the knife in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Only time will tell who gets the role though, and ultimately, it’s up to James Gunn who may have a completely different version of the character in mind.
