Cyberpunk Edgerunners just made an unexpected comeback

We can't get enough of David and Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

Despite its rocky launch, Cyberpunk 2077 went on to be one of the most beloved sci-RPGs in recent years with its dangerous dystopian world of Night City, a place in which cybernetic augmentations are the everyday norm. It's also as beautiful as it is dangerous, generating a level of charisma not seen in most video games.

Developers CD Projekt RED knows that it has struck gold with this franchise and capitalising on its success, Cyberpunk 2077 has not only seen the Phantom Liberty expansion but also board games, comics, novels and much more. Oh, and it’s also received the fantastic anime series on Netflix, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Seriously, even if you’ve never played Cyberpunk 2077 but enjoy mangas such as Ghost in the Shell, Akira or Ridley Scott’s live-action Bladerunner movie, you need to check out Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

Check out the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners trailer below!

“Cyberpunk: Edgerunners tells a standalone, 10-episode story about a street kid trying to survive in a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he chooses to stay alive by becoming an edgerunner—a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk,” reads the description of the Netflix series.

At the heart of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is the charming but complicated love story of David and Lucy. I’ll say no more because I’d hate to ruin some of the plot. But let’s just say that when you’ve finished watching Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, you’ll be churning for more. Sadly, at the time of writing, it’s unlikely that we’ll get season two of the beloved Netflix anime. You can at least get a charming dose of David and Lucy to take home in the form of their loveable figurines.

So if you’re a fan of the Cyberpunk franchise, then you’ll want to pick up the ‘Cyberpunk: Edgerunners David & Lucy - To The Moon Qset+’ from toy manufacturer, Good Smile Company. If you’re familiar with this brand then the chances are that you already own some of its action figures. I have various The Legend of Zelda sets as well as a Chris Redfield from Resident Evil, and they are of fantastic quality.

The ‘Cyberpunk: Edgerunners David & Lucy - To The Moon Qset+’ can be placed for pre-order from several retailers, with the pre-order window being open from now until 27 March 2024. However, I would imagine that even when that pre-order window closes, you’ll still be able to pick it up at retail, so fear not.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is available to stream now via Netflix. Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
