Following the news that a 28 Days Later sequel was finally on the way after a 20-year wait, three of its cast members have now been announced.

First released back in 2002, 28 Days Later made quite a name for itself in the zombie horror genre. Directed by Danny Boyle and starring Oscar award-winner Cillian Murphy, it told the story of a deadly virus outbreak in London that turned everybody into braindead killers.

Followed by sequel, 28 Weeks Later in 2007, it has been a long time since we saw the film series make a return. However, January 2024 saw the third entry get the green-light and with reports that Cillian Murphy himself will take on the role of executive producer, it is shaping up to be another exciting entry.

However, that is not all as according to a report by Deadline, Ralph Fiennes, Jodie Comer and Aaron Taylor-Johnson will be joining the cast of Danny Boyle and Alex Garland’s zombie flick.

The report confirms that this trio will only be part of the first of a three-movie run, but these award-winning actors are sure to bring a whole new army of fans to the post-apocalyptic series.

Fiennes is perhaps best known for his role as Harry Potter’s nemesis, Voldemort, in the fantasy series and has more recently starred in The Menu and The Grand Budapest Hotel.

As for Comer, she made a name for herself starring in Killing Eve alongside Sandra Oh and has since featured in Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.

Last but not least, Taylor-Johnson played Pietro Maximoff in the MCU and has recently been rumoured to take on the role of the next James Bond.

As you can see, this is quite the star-studded cast and despite having no information about their roles in 28 Years Later, we are sure they will offer incredible performances.
