CD Projekt Red have earned their position as one of the best developers in the industry over the last couple of decades, thanks in large part to their impressive The Witcher RPG series, as well as the eventual product we got with Cyberpunk 2077 (tough launch aside).
That said, it has now been over five years since the release of Cyberpunk 2077 and a full decade since we last saw anything in the mainline The Witcher series. This means that a lot of fans are questioning what the next steps are for the storied developer.
Fortunately, we have an answer for you! The dev team have been quite open about exactly what they’re working on, and we know that a huge team is currently dedicated to pumping out The Witcher 4 as soon as possible.
Now, a new development on YouTube could be pointing towards an imminent update from the team themselves, and we couldn’t be more excited about that potential future.
Witcher Playlists Updated on YouTube Ahead of Potential Reveal

Over on Reddit, one eagle-eyed fan noted how the playlists on YouTube for The Witcher 4 and The Witcher 3 were updated just a few days ago, though no new videos are currently visible for the public to watch.
What this usually means is that videos have been uploaded ahead of time but left private or unlisted, allowing them to quickly be toggled on when the team wants the live versions to be viewed by the public.
The fact that the playlist for the older The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt has been updated as well could point towards the long-rumoured DLC for The Wild Hunt getting an official reveal too.
Fans were predictably excited about that potential, as the comments beneath the original post prove.
"They also teased something on TikTok 3 days ago, so yeah, probably Witcher 3 DLC news soon. I'm betting on a May release for the DLC," one comment read.
"Isn't there an Xbox conference on this Thursday? (22 Jan) Given they have been always close with Microsoft, could we potentially get a trailer this Thursday?" another posited.
Unfortunately, for those of us who are liable to get carried away, there are a couple of potential caveats which could put a dampener on proceedings.
Firstly, a change to a playlist doesn't necessarily mean a new video was added secretly, it could simply be a case of channel administration changing a few things around, amending a title or details in descriptions.
Equally, it could be a YouTube issue, as we have previously seen the platform make alterations which in turn lead to notifications like the one here.
Whatever the case does end up being, this Witcher fan is hoping we get something new to play soon, before I turn into dust.
