Nintendo has confirmed that The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask is finally coming to Nintendo Switch, via the console's online service.
The original N64 version of the classic Zelda adventure will be made available in February as part of the Switch Online Expansion Pack. Other N64 games included in this new, pricier tier of Switch Online include Banjo-Kazooie, The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time, and Paper Mario.
Released back in 2000, Majora's Mask is a decidedly darker, stranger kind of Zelda game. A direct sequel to Ocarina Of Time, Majora's Mask sends Link on a journey through the twisted realm of Termina, where he has just three days to stop the moon from crashing into the Earth and wiping out everyone.
If you've never played it, I can't recommend it enough. Majora's Mask has everything you know and love about Zelda - well-designed dungeons, clever puzzles, cool items - but changes up the classic formula with a more compact world and a three-day time loop that ensures you become intimately acquainted with the schedules and lives of Termina's unique residents.
The game's biggest joy is truly just spending time with characters, growing to understand them, and learning what you can to help them. All before the moon falls down and kills them, that is. Like I said, it's a super dark Zelda game.
Anyway, Majora's Mask comes to Switch in February. If you've never played it before, play it. If you have played it? Play it again, obviously. Termina needs your help.
