The Last of Us’ zombies are being called the “most terrifying; in TV history by fans following the conclusion of episode two of the HBO series.

As reported by UNILAD, the second episode of The Last of Us TV series from HBO has fans buzzing across social media. Not only due to its epic conclusion but we were introduced to the terrifying Clickers. If you thought these popcorn-head zombies were bad in the video game, wait until you see (or hear) the live-action fungus monsters.

Now before we proceed, we will be going into spoilers for episode two. So if for whatever reason you’re not caught up with the second episode, consider this your spoiler warning.

Firstly, fans were torn over a controversial death in episode two of the TV series. The death in question mixed things up a little. Personally, I liked it as it generated even more tension for what was already a memorable moment in the video game. I won't say anything more, but if you want to know more ‘Click’ here.

In the game, we first met the Clickers in the Downtown chapter in a derelict office block. However, in the HBO series, that moment was reserved for the Boston Museum. Which itself was home to a few Clickers in the game.

However, for the HBO series, this Museum was our introduction to the horrific Cordyceps monstrosities. This moment was every bit as intense as it was scary. Even if you were already familiar with these monsters from the video game, it had fans on the edge of their seats.

Though if like me and you were a veteran fan of the series, you were probably screaming at the TV for Joel and Tess to shank that Clicker!

Shanking that Clicker aside, the museum scene has to be one of the most intense monster interactions of TV history in recent years, which seems to be the widespread thoughts of fans on Twitter.
