Although a release date for the PC version of Naughty Dog's The Last of Us: Part 1 hasn't been confirmed, we now have some good news - even if it's a little vague. Announced at Summer Game Fest last month, The Last of Us Part 1 is slotted for release on the PlayStation 5 on September 2nd this year, and environment texture artist Jonathan Benainous recently let slip in a tweet that a PC version won't be too far behind.

In a reply to Twitter user Charble, Benainous revealed this vague but promising news. See what he said below.

Check out The Last of Us Part 1's announcement trailer below - how do you think it compares to the original?

The words we're going by are "a bit later, but very soon after the PS5 release" - which aren't a lot to go on, but we're hanging onto the use of "very." Understandably, this got a lot of users into speculation mode with their replies. Some wondered whether or not it would coincide with the release of the TV series, which will tell the same part of The Last of Us' story.

User Manic27 said as much, guessing that the PC version would likely release "around 6 months after the PS5 version." This might be a little later than hoped for some gamers, but hopefully it will be worth the wait whenever it's released. It might even be an interesting experience, playing the game alongside the TV show.

Sony has called The Last of Us Part 1 "a total overhaul of the original experience, faithfully reproduced but incorporating modernized gameplay, improved controls and expanded accessibility options." Whichever platform you plan to play it on, The Last of Us Part 1 looks polished, and should be well commended for the improved accessibility features alone.
