'The Last Of Us Part 1' Has Some Pretty Awesome PS5-Specific Features

Endure and survive on PS5

While fans continue to debate whether or we need The Last Of Us Part I, Naughty Dog and Sony have quietly outlined some of the upcoming remake's new features.

The Last Of Us Part I, a "ground-up" remake of 2013's The Last Of Us boasts overhauled visuals and enhanced gameplay. It shown off earlier this month during Sony's surprise State Of Play, although the lack of focus on the aforementioned new gameplay left many wondering how much in the new game will be truly fresh.

Check it out below:

While we've yet to see any more of the game in action, an update to the game’s PlayStation Direct page confirms some of the all-new, PlayStation 5-specific features that we'll be able to try out when The Last Of Us Part I launches in September.

“Haptic feedback: The DualSense wireless controller supports haptic feedback for every weapon and environmental effects such as the sensation of falling rain," reads a post on the website.

It goes on to promise "dynamic DualSense wireless controller trigger resistance" for all the game's weapons, including Joel's revolver and Ellie's bow.

It's obviously not a huge surprise to learn that The Last Of Us Part I will make use of the DualSense, but I'm certainly excited to see how a studio as creative as Naughty Dog has made the most out of the remarkable controller. Personally I haven't really been blown away by a developer's use of the DualSense's features since Returnal, so I'm hoping our reunion with Joel and Ellie can find new ways to surprise me.
