The Elder Scrolls 6 Update Leaves Gamers With Renewed Hype

Very promising sign

The Elder Scrolls VI is still yet to receive a re-reveal following the cinematic teaser trailer that first surfaced in 2018, but eagle-eyed fans have spotted one interesting update about the game.

September is rapidly slipping away and with that in mind, I’d argue that the end of the year is very much in sight.

It does make you wonder whether 2025 might mark yet another 12 months without an Elder Scrolls VI update.

On one hand, that wouldn’t surprise me; it feels like this game might never arrive.

On the other, for so many years 2026 was touted as a potential release window - mainly because fans expected Bethesda might have something new to show three years on from Starfield’s release.

With The Elder Scrolls VI remaining out of action for now though, I’d say a 2027 launch is the very earliest we’ll get.

That’s just my personal theory.

For all I know the title could surface at this year’s The Game Awards with a release date.

GTA VI and The Elder Scrolls VI in the same year could be something special indeed.

Because of just how quiet Bethesda has been, there’s very little we know about the title.

We don’t know its official name, where it’s set, or anything about how it’ll update the Elder Scrolls formula.

One fan has spotted the game’s design director though.

Reddit user Aggressive_Rope_4201 took to the site to share that Alan Nanes is on design directing duties, as reflected on his LinkedIn page.

It reads, “I am currently working as the design director on Bethsda Game Studio’s next game in the Elder Scrolls series.”

Nanes’ previous credits include practically the entirety of Bethesda’s back catalogue excluding Starfield.

Emil Pagliarulo fulfilled the role for that title.

Admittedly, this information isn’t brand new and has been out there for a while, but it’s only recently captured the attention of quite a large portion of the Elder Scrolls fanbase.

“He created Mjoll and brought back Jiub? I’ve heard enough,” replied south_bronx_parasyte using the ‘absolute cinema’ meme.

“Ah so he is the man responsible for the nirnroot quests. Grrrrrrrrr. Super excited, looks like everything he has touched has been memorable and well written,” added RoyalEmergency3911.

“Holy crap, this is incredible news. I would've taken anyone over Emil, but this is great,” echoed Below_TheSurface.

It’s a little crumb of news to tide us over until something more substantial lands.
