The Elder Scrolls VI is still being teased the exact same way since its reveal back in 2018, and fans are sick of waiting for an update.

If you thought the wait for Hollow Knight Silksong was bad and the wait for GTA VI is worse, don’t forget about The Elder Scrolls VI.

Bethesda has not only said little to nothing about its next Elder Scrolls game, it hasn’t even updated the game’s website…

Elder Scrolls fans spotted the game’s official website still says the game is in pre-production, which has quite a few of them worried about its release date.

Don’t fret though as the game is more than likely in full-production; in fact, Bethesda confirmed as much a while ago.

Many fans picked up on this thankfully, like one that said, “The game is not in pre-production, they just haven't updated it because they tend to only show things when the game is near completion.”

Another said, “This page will probably never be updated. They’ll delete it when they’ll officially announce the game name.”

If The Elder Scrolls VI wasn’t in full-production, you’d hope it would be, as the games Bethesda currently has on the go Fallout 76 and The Elder Scrolls Online, both of which fall under different internal teams.

It’d help if the studio would say anything about the game in the build-up to its release, many of which speculate to be well into 2026 if not beyond.

Just some in-game screenshots would be more than enough at this point, as ever since the reveal teaser in 2018, all we’ve had to look at is the same picture of a mountain and an ocean - nothing to really get us hyped.

The optimist in me says we’ll see something more substantial at The Game Awards as a last-minute surprise just before the show ends, but in all likelihood, we’re not seeing or hearing anything more about the game until 2026.

Fortunately, we’ve got plenty to play and look forward to in the meantime. Hollow Knight: Silksong is here and next spring we’ll finally be able to play GTA VI, which should keep us occupied until The Elder Scrolls VI comes out.

For now, we continue to wait and hope Bethesda delivers the goods sooner rather than later but again, I’m not holding my breath.
