If there was one big disappointment from Summer Game Fest, it was that no news emerged regarding The Elder Scrolls VI.
It wasn’t expected, but given the game was revealed seven years ago, fans of the long-running franchise came to expect something, even if it was just a cinematic during the Xbox Showcase.
According to one leak, or you could frame it as a rumour, there might be something on the way, which has fans of The Elder Scrolls VI getting amped up.

This comes from Jez Corden, who said he has “started hearing rumours about it, which makes me think more people at Microsoft are privy to it, which in turn makes me think there's an internal trailer going around”.
You should take this with a large scooping of salt, as rumours like this are constantly flying around the industry, but there could be some truth here.
We know that Bethesda is working on the game; we also know that Microsoft will be privy to all the finer details on it, including seeing game footage.
“Don’t give me hope…” said one fan over on Reddit after hearing the quote from Corden.

There’s a lot of discussion in that thread of how long it roughly takes Bethesda to produce a game, and when that means The Elder Scrolls VI could land.
“I really don’t think it is insane for ES6 to be targeting 2026. I would guess that they were farther along on it than they normally are,” comments LB3PTMAN.
Beardedsmith notes, “I'm not expecting a trailer until we're six months out personally.”
I do hope Corden’s feeling is correct, as it would be lovely to see the new game get a showing soon, but it’s unlikely it’ll drop out of nowhere, so we might be looking to the end of 2025 and The Game Awards before we get a reveal.
