The Elder Scrolls VI is just another of those titles, much like BioShock 4 and Fallout 5, which seem to be taking an age to be released.

With Bethesda keeping any details on The Elder Scrolls VI close to its chest, it could still be years until we finally get our hands on the next The Elder Scrolls title.

After all, it has been well over a decade since The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was released but with such big shoes to fill, it is perhaps no surprise that Bethesda is aiming for perfection.

Nevertheless, The Elder Scrolls VI is still without a release date, or even a release window with estimates ranging from 2027 to even 2029.

It was back in 2018 that the sixth instalment was first announced so it is no wonder that fans are starting to lose patience and looking in the strangest places for possible answers.

That is definitely the case for Reddit user Aebothius who recently took to r/TESVI to share their latest theory, one which they have proclaimed is a ‘crackpot’ idea.

“Crackpot Release Date Theory - 7/26/27,” they shared alongside their “evidence”.

According to them, The Elder Scrolls VI will be released on the 26 July 2027 and the answer has been staring us in the face all this time.

Back in April, Bethesda shocked fans by shadowdropping The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for modern-day consoles and it is here that Aebothius has seemingly found the answers.

You see, Bethesda recently dropped a graphic announcing a physical version of the game.

Within that graphic, the Reddit user draws our attention to the bottom of the page where you can see a weight listed; the numbers 267/270 can be seen, leading them to believe that this will be the release date for The Elder Scrolls VI.

Listen, I cannot say that I can support this theory and it is a ‘crackpot’ theory to say the least but the user themselves claim that “the cope is strong with this one”.

However, fellow fans seem to be on board with the idea.

“Wait...let him cook,” user OwnAHole shared.

Another user agreed, adding, ”Bethesda does seem to love to leak their planned release dates and hide them in their games, so maybe.”

Of course, there is absolutely no stock behind this theory which stems from pure desperation from fans, but who knows? Stranger things have indeed happened in the world of The Elder Scrolls.

Until then, all we can do is wait for Bethesda to release more credible information regarding The Elder Scroll VI but hopefully, it will be released in our lifetimes.
