The Elder Scrolls 6 fans marking their calendars for 8 June

Should we get excited, again?

The Elder Scrolls VI fans are getting excited once more and marking their calendars for a potential new reveal on 8 June, this coming Sunday.

I’m rolling my eyes as I type this because it feels like we’ve been here a million times before, allowing hype to take control ahead of an Xbox Games Showcase during Summer Game Fest.

Fans of Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls series are really hoping that we finally get new details on The Elder Scrolls VI, whether it’s a gameplay trailer and/or, at the very least, a release window.

An update is long overdue. The Elder Scrolls VI was first announced during E3 2018 (a show that no longer exists) and since that time, we’ve received no concrete release window, let alone a gameplay trailer. All we’ve had is mere unconfirmed speculation.

That being said, could the Xbox Games Showcase this Sunday, on 8 June, finally be the turning point? Bethesda RPG fans are certainly hoping so.

“Could Bethesda finally reveal something about The Elder Scrolls VI this June?” asked Redditor yaseenak.

“On a recent Xbox-centric podcast called ‘Xbox Two’, the hosts speculated that Bethesda might tease The Elder Scrolls VI at the Xbox Games Showcase. They believe TES6 might even close the show,” they continued. “They definitely know what they're talking about — in last year’s Xbox Games Showcase, they accurately predicted both the opening and closing segments of the show.”

“Some people will be quick to say no, but I for one think they will. Even if it’s just another teaser,” said the optimistic EmbarrassedPianist59.

“I wish, but don't think so. I think next year is more likely for a second teaser,” replied SimaJinn.

“Since we're not that far away from release, I could see Bethesda revealing the full title and showing off a cinematic as a means of giving us a small glimpse of what to look forward to,” speculated ResidentDrama9739. “We're still at least two years out from release, but this would be the time for a title reveal.”

“Bethesda just did The Elder Scrolls sale on Steam, seemed kinda out of nowhere, other than being right in between the Oblivion remaster release. It’s not evidence, but the timing and specificity make me wonder exactly why they’re keeping the series in people’s minds right now,” said the suspicious EFPMusic.

I would love to see The Elder Scrolls VI get a new reveal this weekend, but I’ve trained my brain not to get my hopes up on such things. Then, if it does appear at the show, it’s a nice bonus.

As always, we’ll keep you posted if we learn of any news regarding The Elder Scrolls VI.
