It is no secret that the gaming market is pretty damn tough and launching any new game into it is never going to be easy.

That was certainly the case for The Day Before, a multiplayer survival horror extraction title which launched on 7 December 2023 and was closed by its developers after just a few days.

Check out the trailer for the now-gone The Day Before below!

Due to inadequate servers at launch and multiple other issues which saw some players think the whole game was a scam, The Day Before by Fntastic soon became a distant memory after its removal.

However, it seems as though Fntastic is trying again by returning with a brand new game.

Taking to Twitter, The Day Before developer asked gamers for a “second chance” and its pleas came alongside a link to a Kickstarter page complete with a manifesto.

“Everyone deserves a second chance. We deeply apologize to everyone for The Day Before and take full responsibility for what happened,” the developer wrote.

“Check out our plan, Fntastic 2.0, where we share how we’ll fix our past mistakes and are preparing to return better.”

In an attempt to “create games that will be loved for decades”, Fntastic 2.0 will focus on principles, honesty and transparency going ahead in an attempt to rebuild the brand.

However, what gamers were most interested in was the brand-new game.

Titled Escape Factory, this one would be a physics-based multiplayer title for between 4-8 players.

Players must take on puzzles, traps and monsters in order to beat the game’s multiple levels and the whole thing is quite reminiscent of Fall Guys.

Not only that but this has a much different tone than The Day Before.

However, if Escape Factory doesn’t reach its Kickstarter goal, the project will seemingly be scrapped.

So, no pressure.

It remains to be seen if this brand-new title will be successful but it will be nice to see its developers get a second chance.
