Black Friday is a very exciting time of year if you like to play video games, as seemingly every storefront on every potential platform has a ton of deals that you simply won't see at any other time.

The Xbox store has a ton of reductions available right now, including for releases for some of the biggest franchises globally, including Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect and Dragon Age, to name just a few.

Joining Microsoft in offering a lot of great deals to consumers is Steam, everyone's favourite port of call when it comes to gaming on the PC.

If you go and have a look for yourself, there are a lot of games available at reductions up to a staggering 95%, bringing cool games like Vermintide II, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Middle-earth: Shadow of War to players for just £3.50, or less in the case of Vermintide.

All of that in mind, seeing a game go from costing money to becoming entirely free is extremely rare, but one game has done just that on Steam and it's extremely well reviewed by those who have played it so far.

Aaero is a Game With Very Few Peers

Aaero is an indie rhythm game developed by micro-studio Mad Fellows that you likely won't have seen anything similar to in recent years.

In the developer's own words: "Trace ribbons of light to release the energy in the music as you speed through stylised alien worlds.

"Battle strange enemies and fight epic boss battles all driven by an incredible licensed soundtrack."

That licensed soundtrack includes hits from big artists including Noisia, Flux Pavilion, Katy B, The Prototypes, Neosignal and many more, so expect electronic music to dominate proceedings.

The only caveat is that the game isn't free directly from Steam.

Instead, head over to the game's page on Fanatical and get it there, following which you can claim it for your Steam profile and proceed as normal.

The game was very well received by critics and even more so by players, with the game currently sitting on Very Positive reviews on Steam.

Many of those reviews even elevate Aaero to the position of the best rhythm game they have ever played, so if you even have a passing interest in the genre, then it's well worth playing.

The offer is only available until 26 November, so you really will have to act quickly if you want to add the game to your collection.
