Steam: 8 new free games available to download and keep, no strings attached

Oh look, it’s another day, which means that we’re getting another load of free games. Happy days!

At this point, it’s starting to get nearly impossible to keep up with all the free games on offer lately, but we’re not complaining. During this time when the cost of living crisis is running rampant, it’s always nice to find a distraction with our beloved video games, especially when it comes at no cost.

Temtem Showdown is available for free on Steam.

During the last couple of weeks alone, we’ve had free video games from the likes of GOG, Epic Games, PlayStation Plus (albeit via subscription), and perhaps most notably, Steam. This brings us to today’s topic, and that’s eight more free Steam games that are available to download and keep now with no strings attached.

So what are the eight free Steam games I hear you ask? On 4 July 2023, the free-to-play World Boss (first-person shooter multiplayer), Miners Settlement (MMO), Home Designer (casual sim), Train Operator 377 (sim), [E]Island Hop (casual free-to-play) as well as the Pokémon-inspired, Temtem: Showdown joined the storefront.

Elsewhere, we also have the casual indie sim Danger Ducklings, as well as the early access shooter Open Mod. All of the mentioned games in this article will remain free forever, as far as we’re aware, so there’s no need to panic about the fear of missing out. That being said, they are digital games, so they could technically be pulled from the Steam Store at any point.

In related news, a further 34 games are available to download and keep thanks to a massive Steam giveaway, and if you wanted to play the upcoming RoboCop: Rogue City ahead of its launch later this year, now’s your chance to be the cybernetic law enforcer at no cost. As always, we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more freebies, so watch this space.
