After launching several updates for Fallout 4, and subsequently breaking the game for many people, Bethesda has released another massive update for their latest game, Starfield, that comes with over 100 different fixes for the title.

All versions of the game have now received a long-requested redesign to the maps of the game, which several people had previously complained were too confusing and were impossible to navigate. This update has added more identifiable markers, and is a lot easier to navigate to the naked eye.

The game now also has difficulty options that can be found in the Gameplay Options section of the settings menu. These options are similar to the survival mode that's available in Fallout 4, though there's a lot less to play around with here. Players have been given the option to change how effective food is, mess around with the level of environmental hazards that can be found on other planets, and new combat modes that make it a lot harder to just shoot your way through the game. There's even a new Extreme difficulty mode, one that will give even the most dedicated fan of Starfield a tough time.

In addition to all of this, the console versions of the game are now able to choose what frame-rates that they want the game to run at, a sharp difference to the original launch of the game that was targeting 30fps. Players are able to choose between visual and performance mode, with fps targets for 30fps, 40fps and 60fps, along with an uncapped frame rate for those who just want to see how well the game can run. In addition to this, there's an option for v-sync, which allows for lower input lag at the expense of possible screen tearing.
