Stardew Valley players have a new mission to undertake, with an incredibly cool reward at the end of it.

Don’t get your hopes up for a Stardew Valley sequel anytime soon, but do we really need one when updates for the game are still coming out, and even when they’re not there’s a never-ending supply of mods to expand the game with?

What we’re talking about today though can be found with no mods at all, it’s in the base game and waiting to be uncovered.

This was shared in a Reddit thread by Sightshade, and is described as “a small event, but a very big deal that it's in the game.”

They go on to explain that you’ll need to follow a few steps in order to claim it, but don’t worry they’re pretty simple.

The steps described are as follows: “Step 1: Throw an Ancient Doll into the lava pool on Floor 100 in the Mines. Step 2: Take the item you get to the new pylon in the Wizard's basement. Step 3: Enjoy your reward!”

What is this reward I hear you wondering? It’s none other than the Meowmere sword from another hit survival game, Terraria.

It’s a charming reference and it’s really cool to see it in the game, and if you haven’t played Terraria but enjoy Stardew Valley I’d recommend it, but it’s got more in common with Minecraft than the former.

Other comments shared additional info on the sword, with one pointing out that you can “also transmog meowmere onto the infinity blade and it has visual effects!”

It’s very cute, and if you haven’t found it yet on your first or umpteenth playthrough it’ll give you something to do while you’re waiting for the next big update, whenever that may be.
