When it comes to Stardew Valley, we all have our own ways of playing, especially with many of us having completed multiple playthroughs over the years.

However, there is still always something to learn about the hit farm life simulation game and fans are always eager to share their very own tips and tricks. First released back in 2016, Stardew Valley quickly met critical acclaim and is, to this day, widely regarded as the best farming simulation title of all time.

Initially created and developed by one person known as Concerned Ape, real name Eric Barone, Stardew Valley became a cultural phenomenon and is as loved today as it was almost a decade ago when it first launched.

Thanks to regular updates and patches, and a dedicated modding community, Stardew Valley continues to thrive and the conversation surrounding it makes r/StardewValley as active as ever.

That is why a recent Reddit post by Peacefulfrog asking for Stardew Valley “life hacks” gained a lot of traction earlier this week.

“What are your small little habits that make your life a tad bit easier?” They asked.

First of all, Peacefulfrog had their own tips and tricks to share.

“When fishing, I take 1-3 smokers with me and smoke the fish on the spot. Saves some work later on. Smoking takes an hour, which is 2-3 catches,” they shared.

Additionally, they also suggest that when building friendship or romance with a character who lives far away, place chests with their favourite gifts nearby.

“When I'm in the area, I'll make a quick stop. Removes the hassle of remembering to take gifts along.”

When it comes to chests, it seems as though fellow user Lakym97 also has a top tip.

“I keep a chest in Robin's house with stone, wood, clay, etc. so I can quickly have her build me some buildings,” they explained.

It seems as though this tip definitely helped user thoughtandprayer who replied, “Wait, this one is brilliant.

I'm constantly deciding I want her to build something only after I've left the farm, and it's annoying having to backtrack! Especially if she closes before I return.”

However, for those who are more interested in the farming side of Stardew Valley, this useful life hack will make you save a whole lot of time.

“If you hold the ‘pet animal’ button and run through the group, it’ll only pet the ones who haven’t been touched that day, and ignore the ones who have, avoiding slowing you down by clicking an animal twice,” Loud-Principle-7922 suggested.

If you are new to Stardew Valley or just want an excuse to start up a brand-new save and take these tips into consideration, this handy Reddit thread is definitely worth checking out.
