The latest Star Wars series has, quite literally, rebuilt the lore and the universe of the franchise from the ground up– which sounds like a recipe for disaster, but has been surprisingly well received by the fanbase.
At this point, as far as the canon is concerned, I’m not even sure that Disney knows what’s going on in Star Wars’ story.
Following the absolutely abysmal reception to the final entry in the Sequel Trilogy, Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker, fans have been calling for a complete reboot of the Star Wars canon, and it seems they may have finally got their wish.
LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past is the latest Star Wars series to pop up on Disney+, and it serves as a follow-up to the original series (simply titled LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy) that dropped back in 2024.

Now, you might see the phrase “LEGO Star Wars” and assume that I’m pulling your leg here, but I’m being deadly serious when I say that this might be one of the best-received pieces of Star Wars media in years.
The series follows brothers Sig Greebling and Dev Greebling, who embody the two polar opposite sides of the force, as they attempt to restore the Star Wars universe to its status quo, as the pre-established canon of the universe has been completely rewritten by an ancient relic known as the Cornerstone.
Sounds ridiculous, I know– but that seems to be what the folks over on the r/StarWarsLeaks subreddit love about it.
“Literally just binged it and it's great to see the artists not just treating it like fan media or "for the kids" but delivering some impact and drama”, commented user lost_scotsman.

“Both series of this have been some of the best Star Wars content in ages and I'm really glad we are in a space where this, Andor, Skeleton Crew, Bad Batch and the Mandalorian can all exist.”
“Ok, why is this so good? The plotlines are ridiculous (but enjoyable), and the execution is amazing. I got emotional whiplash like 10 times in each season. The show can got darker than I expected, but there are still lot's of jokes”, replied user BombadSithLord.
Huh, I guess the best way to please Star Wars fans is to simply completely throw out all the pre-established canon and write something completely new?
I’m not sure if that’s the lesson you guys want Disney to take from this…
