Are you all still tuned into The Game Awards, or are you catching up on this article the day after? It’s been a jam-packed night already - and we’re only just starting. A brand new Hellboy game has been announced, plus God of War Ragnarök’s Christopher Judge has won the award for ‘Best Performance’ for his portrayal of Kratos. Well deserved. Let’s not forget that bizarre Death Stranding 2 announcement trailer too.

I know, I know. You’re here to find out the latest Star Wars Jedi: Survivor news. Earlier this week, the release date of Respawn Entertainment’s upcoming sequel seemingly leaked online. A Steam listing of the game suggested that it was set to release in March 2023 - and that’s now been confirmed. That’s not all. We also got our first glimpse at some Jedi: Survivor gameplay. Take a look below.

Without further ado, here is your first look at some gameplay from Star Wars: Jedi Survivor.

How incredible does that look? This certainly feels like a major step up from the first game. Star Wars: Jedi Survivor will officially be released on 17 March, 2023. In fact, Cal Kestis actor Cameron Monaghan even stopped by to tell viewers that he’s played the game and truly believes it to be one of the best Star Wars games of all time. High praise, indeed.

The trailer also confirmed again that Jedi: Survivor is new-gen only. The game will be released on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and on PC. As for what’s in store for Cal, there’s plenty to unpack. The latest official synopsis reads, “No longer a Padawan, Cal has come into his own and grown into a powerful Jedi Knight. Carrying the memories and expectations of the Jedi Order with him, his crusade against the Empire has only become more perilous. The Dark Times are closing in - with enemies new and familiar surrounding him, Cal will need to decide how far he’s willing to go to save those closest to him.” Intriguing.

It fits with what we know as devs previously teased that Cal would be forced to make unsavoury alliances in what they describe as a “darker” journey. EA also confirmed that Jedi: Survivor will include “additional Force abilities and new lightsaber fighting styles.” This is a game I can’t wait to get my hands on.
