It’s finally here. After months of theorising what the sequel to 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order would have in store, we’re one step closer to finding out - and what an almighty big step it is too.

In case you missed it, the annual Star Wars Celebration event is happening right now over in California which means there’s a ton of Star Wars related news dropping. Lucasfilm released the first trailer for upcoming series Star Wars: Andor, and we now know when season three of The Mandalorian is coming. On top of all that, Respawn Entertainment have joined in on the fun by dropping the first trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor alongside its release window.

Check out the brand new trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor below!

Doesn’t that look incredible? Sure, it may only be a brief cinematic and we don’t yet know what the sequel’s gameplay will look like but I am already well and truly excited for Cal’s next adventure. For months now, there have been rumours that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor might not even focus on Cal Kestis. Some believed the series would take an anthological approach, centring around a new Jedi with each game, but that theory seems to have been put to rest as that’s very much Cal that we see in the trailer.

There’s lots to unpack in the trailer but perhaps most importantly, who is Cal looking at in the bacta tank? Whilst we scratch our heads in ponderment, Respawn did share a few more details on the project.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is due to release sometime in 2023 which is a vague and large release window but hey, it’s a start. More importantly, they also confirmed that the game will be new-gen only, as suggested by previous rumours. This means that Cal’s latest adventure will only be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Atleast between now and 2023, there’s plenty of juicy Star Wars content to enjoy on Disney+.
