The legendary duo reunites

Star Wars fans were only treated to a small glimpse of the relationship between Jedi Masters Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn before the latter was unceremoniously killed during the events of Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace.

Perhaps the trilogy would have ended up a lot different had Qui-Gon survived but alas, he was killed by Darth Maul, marking the end of Liam Neeson’s role in the Star Wars universe.

Check out the trailer for Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace below!

However, all is not lost as thanks to a brand-new prequel; the beloved Jedi Masters have finally been reunited once again.

The prequel comes in the form of the Star Wars: Jedi Knights comics, particularly Issue #3 which was released just yesterday.

Written by Marc Guggenheim, with help from penciller Madibek Musabekov and cover artist R. Rahzzah, Jedi Knights is a brand-new prequel comic centred around the adventures of Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

“Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi battle giant monsters! All splash pages! All Action!” the official synopsis reads.

“The most unusual Jedi Knights tale ever told! Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan defy death in an epic attempt to save the life of Senator Bail Organa on a planet full of skyscraper-sized monsters!”

As the third volume in the Jedi Knights comic book series, this one is guaranteed to cater to fans of the Skywalker Saga, especially those who wish to see more of padawan Obi-Wan before his master was taken from him.

This will be the second time the pair have reunited after coming together at the end of Obi-Wan Kenobi but hopefully this comic book will inspire another live-action team-up.

In the meantime, Andor season two just wrapped up with an explosive finale, marking the end of the hit Disney+ show.

The future's looking bright for the Star Wars universe indeed.
