We’re getting steadily closer to the day that many deem Star Wars Day, 4 May, as brands across the world try to get in on the action, enticing Star Wars fans with deals and offers.

One of those companies, who has close ties with the Star Wars brand, is Epic Games who took to Twitter to announce that some free games will be coming soon.

Star Wars Outlaws could be free for Epic Games users very soon.

The announcement was made against a starry backdrop of space in hyperdrive travel, with the message simply reading, “May the FREE GAME be with you! More coming soon.”

At the time of writing, there are no details, as yet, on what the mysterious game, or games, will be.

With a whole host of Star Wars games available, it could be any number of them, but fans are hoping that it will be the recent Ubisoft release, Star Wars Outlaws.

You’ll need an Epic Games Store account, and the offer will likely only be available for PC players, but a free game is always welcome, right?

If it does end up being Star Wars Outlaws, it would be huge for fans who missed out on the recent release.

Reception of the game was all over the place, and the launch build was filled with issues that Ubisoft has since worked hard at patching.

Some fans would prefer other titles for free, however.

“I will 100% be downloading if it’s Battlefront 2,” said one Star Wars fan.

Another player guesses, “Either one of the Jedi games or Star Wars Outlaws, I'm guessing.”

Either of the recent Jedi games from Respawn Entertainment would be a great deal, but so would the underrated Star Wars: Squadrons, which sees players piloting some of the best spacecraft in the franchise.

We’ll have to see what appears when the store refreshes on 4 May.
