Andor has been one of the best Star Wars shows to air since Disney+ began, so it’s no wonder fans are excited for Season 2.

It’s up there with The Mandalorian Season 1 in terms of quality, and seeing the story behind Cassian Andor before the events of Star Wars: Rogue One, a prequel to a prequel basically, has been nothing short of breathtaking.

At Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Japan a special panel was held to celebrate Season 2, with fans being given the entire first episode to watch after some words from the cast.

While fans were watching I spoke with Diego Luna, who plays Cassian, and the rest of the cast to talk about the final season and what it means to say goodbye.

When asked if he was satisfied with the completed story of Andor, Diego Luna said: “I'm very happy with the result. I'm very excited to share it with the audience. It's been two years and a lot of work, you know?”

On the topic of saying goodbye to not only the series but Andor as a character, he said: “my heart is in this show. So yes, it is sad, but it's also the right moment to say goodbye. This is the way things should end … I am really proud of what we made, and every day with this team has been special for me. So it's good to finish this way. It's good to finish when you're really excited about what you're doing.”

Finally, he added “I hope audiences really love the second season. I hope they also see Rogue One after seeing the second season, because I think the film is going to play differently for audiences.”

While Andor provides some historical context to Star Wars: Rogue One, it’ll also add to the emotional weight of what happens in that film, so do check out Andor Season 2 when it arrives on Disney+ 22 April, 23 April for those in the UK.
