Considered one of the best pieces of television in recent years, Star Wars' Andor finally came to an end earlier this year in one of the greatest television climaxes in recent memory.
However, one of its lead stars wished that it had continued and would have been more than happy to return for that highly requested third season.
First airing back in 2022 as the next major Star Wars television show spin-off, Andor quickly became a fan favourite thanks to its darker themes, characterisation, actor’s performances, cinematography and more.
Telling the story of thief-turned-rebel-spy Cassian Andor, we follow him during the five years leading up to the events of the first two Star Wars movies.

With a stellar cast and incredible writing, it is no wonder that Andor went on to receive 22 Emmy nominations but unfortunately, it all came to an end earlier this year.
The second, and final, season aired back in April and brought the story to an end but according to one Andor star, they could have kept going.

An Andor legend returns? He wishes
Taking on the role of Luthen Rael in Andor was award-winning actor Stellan Skarsgård and it is he who Vulture recently spoke to about his time on the show.
The actor revealed that he had suffered a stroke "three years ago, between Andor Season one and two".
However, he has since recovered and revealed that he would have been happy to return for another season as “he wasn’t bored with [Andor]."
With Luthen being one of the most iconic and important characters in the Star Wars television show, fans would have loved both his return and, of course, more of the television show as a whole.
That is why they took to the comments of one Star Wars fan account on Twitter to share their thoughts.
“His performance deserved an Emmy and is one of the best on TV,” one user shared.
Another agreed, adding, “His character was great. Well played, well written.
"I would really love to see more. What I am missing is one season of Andor between one and two showing imperial and rebel secret services at work.”
User Jared Terhune wrote, “It could’ve gone another season.”
Andor season three?
Unfortunately, and at least as far as we know, Andor has officially come to an end and Disney has already turned its attention to the future of the Star Wars franchise via other television shows and movies.
That being said, if Andor was ever to return in some capacity, we at least know that Skarsgård would be back where he belongs in his role as Luthen.
How he would return is a head scratcher given his fate at the end of the second season. But that's one for Disney to answer.
