Next year, we’ll be able to explore over 1,000 planets in Bethesda’s highly-anticipated space epic Starfield and whilst fans may feel like they’ve been waiting an absolute age, there’s another space-set game on the way with an even lengthier development time: Dual Universe.

Speaking of Starfield, check out this gameplay reveal below.

Developer Novaquark have officially announced that Dual Universe will release on PC on 27 September, after a whopping eight years in development. As reported by PC Gamer, Dual Universe is essentially a player-created EVE Online style MMO with a flexible voxel-based crafting system.

The game has actually been in beta for two years but is now gearing up for its full launch. During the beta period, developers added in space warfare, markets, and asteroid mining but the full launch will include a new feature that reportedly contains some of “the most advanced voxel technology ever created,” (via PC Gamer) which is a kind of three-dimensional graphic.

The launch is said to include a free trial so you can always give Dual Universe a spin if you’re not sure if it’s your thing. The free trial server will run separately to the main player base server. If you’ve already played the beta, you’ll get two weeks free. It’s always nice when loyalty is rewarded.
