Have you ever wondered what would happen if the NPCs were killed during the famous Skyrim prologue? If so, that burning desire for knowledge will soon be answered.

“Hey, you’re finally awake” is one of the most iconic opening lines in video game history and not just in Bethesda’s legendary fantasy RPG series, The Elder Scrolls. You, the player, wake up in a horse cart before getting your noggin chopped off by executors in the small town of Helgen.

However, just as you’re about to get executed, Alduin aka the “World Eater” swoops in, not to save you, but to burn everyone and everything in the small town, just because he can, granting you the perfect opportunity to escape.

YouTuber Fatal Steven likes to explore ‘what if’ scenarios and during the opening moments of Skyrim, the content creator wondered what would happen if you killed certain NPCs before Alduin caused utter destruction.

It took Fatal Steven a few attempts to create the scenario with one humorous moment resulting in the cart horse spinning like a tornado flying across the skies of Tamriel but he got there eventually.

“When the horse started spinning, I lost it,” said MCObliviousKnight in the comments section of the video.

“I’ve been wanting for ‘What Happens’ in Skyrim videos for a long time, I’m super glad you decided to do it,” replied chazinery4203.

“He Rick-roll himself two minutes in,” joked PazuzuDeamon4horsemen.

Finally, after about three-and-a-half minutes into the video, Fatal Steven’s plan finally sets into motion and the results are worth the wait. But I won't spoil that for you here, so enjoy.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is available on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

It’s also currently included in subscriptions to Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium at no extra cost.
