If you are on the lookout for a brand-new RPG to get stuck into or, even better, one that has not even officially been released yet, then look no further than Digital Extremes’ latest release.
First announced back in 2022, Digital Extremes, who are best known for the third-person action shooter Warframe, revealed Soulframe, an upcoming MMORPG that is available to play right now.
Titled Soulframe: Preludes, the MMORPG has not yet received an official release date but thanks to Digital Extremes’ recent TennoCon 2025 event, players can dive into the action thanks to an early test version.
Soulframe has been available to play for quite some time now but this is the first time that access to the test server has been open to all members of the public rather than by invite only.

This will allow the developers to get player feedback as well as give players the chance to experience the game ahead of its official launch.
Unlike Warframe, Soulframe: Preludes is based on a medieval setting and so it is no surprise that many fans are already comparing it to games such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Players will take on the role of an Envoy who must work to save nature in a world threatened to be overtaken by machines.
Combining melee combat with magical abilities, players can choose between three classes which essentially boil down to archer, warrior or mage/druid.

They will then set about saving the natural world of Alca as they discover long-lost ancestors who can help along the way.
Although Soulframe is still in the very early stages of development, Digital Extremes is still regularly adding content and updates and players will have access to the game up until its launch.
Not only that but if you missed the free access weekend, you can still sign up to play Soulframe: Preludes at any time on the official website.
So if you are on the lookout for a brand-new MMORPG to get stuck into, don’t miss out on the chance to experience the next one on the market for completely free.

Oh, and I would definitely recommend this one to the animal lovers.
