Skyrim meets The Witcher in this brand new RPG on Steam, which can last at least 100 hours (and counting).

When it comes to beloved fantasy RPGs, it perhaps doesn't get more so than the likes of Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and CD Projekt RED’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Originally released in 2011 on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, before being ported to every console generation since, Skyrim is without question the most popular entry in The Elder Scrolls series.

Whether Skyrim can be outdone by The Elder Scrolls VI remains to be seen. That being said, considering that The Elder Scrolls VI was announced during E3 2018, and we still don't have a release date or gameplay trailer, don’t expect that highly anticipated RPG to arrive anytime soon.

One game that we know is likely to arrive before The Elder Scrolls VI is The Witcher 4. After all, earlier this year, we were treated to some epic gameplay of the CDPR RPG. However, while we don't have a release date for it, hopefully, its arrival is no more than a couple of years away.

This Steam RPG should keep you busy!

So, what can we play to keep us busy until The Elder Scrolls VI and The Witcher 4 arrive, I hear you ask? That very game could be Of Ash and Steel (which sounds very Game of Thrones), developed by Fire & Frost, and published by tinyBuild.

“Of Ash and Steel is an immersive third-person open-world RPG created by a passionate team that values the essence of classic old-school RPGs and modern designs,” reads the synopsis of the game on Steam. “Explore the lands of a once-prosperous island, hone your combat skills, and survive in the unforgiving realm of the Kingdom of the Seven.”

In terms of gameplay, according to its official press release, Of Ash and Steel is said to be a “retro-inspired open-world RPG” and features over 100 hours of content, which sounds meaty indeed.

“Looks great. I can't wait for the release,” said marilala2274, in the comments section of a gameplay overview trailer for Of Ash and Steel on YouTube.

“Purchasing a house AND FORGING A SWORD?! Please come to PS5,” pleaded GeraldHarnack.

“You’re the best tinyBuild,” declared faizsheikh9021.

“Looks sick, can't wait,” said bassa69.

Of Ash and Steel is set to launch on Steam later this month on 24 November 2025. Oh, and I nearly forgot to mention, it has a free playable demo available to download right now.
