Skyrim Gamers Blown Away By Hidden Island That 'Feels Like DLC'

One of the rarest areas in the game

Skyrim players have been blown away by a secret area that can only be accessed during a specific quest.

As you’re probably aware, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a massive game. In fact, it’s so large that plenty of players still haven’t done everything there is to do.

There are even some areas in the game that you might not even know existed, such as this one place that can only be accessed by doing a specific quest.

The hidden island is called Japhet’s Folly, and it’s a separate area that you can’t normally reach just by exploring. Instead, you can only access it as part of the Rise in the East quest.

To start the quest, head to Solitude and find Orthus Endario. He’s an Imperial citizen who works for the East Empire Company who gives you the quest.

Follow the quest normally, which will involve you stealing an item from a character in Windhelm, and then talking to another character in Dawnstar. Then you’ll be prompted to depart to Japhet’s Folly.

The location itself isn’t massive, and there isn’t really anything to do there besides the quest objective you’ve been sent there to complete. Still, it’s pretty cool to see something you may not have realised even existed.

And some Elder Scrolls fans have had their minds blown at realising this was a thing.

“It's mad how I have 1000+hours on Skyrim but there are places I've never seen,” reads one comment on YouTube.

“As someone with thousands of hours in Skyrim this was one quest I hadn't done until relatively recently, which felt surreal,” reads another comment under the same YouTube video. “It made me feel like it was DLC content or something, even though it was actually part of the vanilla game.”

“I've been playing this game since its release in 2011 and never knew about this quest,” a third comment reads. “Just goes to show how expansive this game is, I love it.”
