There is no denying that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim features one of the best memorable opening scenes of all time.

From waking up in the carriage to your almost-execution and the eventual arrival of Alduin, the opening moments of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim are iconic and set up your upcoming adventures perfectly.

Despite the latest The Elder Scrolls title having been a firm favourite for over a decade, it is clear that Bethesda packed it full to the brim with secrets, Easter eggs, and hidden features as players are still stumbling across them to this day.

Not only that but it seems as though an alternate ending has been hidden under our noses all this time and Skyrim can end just as soon as it has begun.

According to RealPokeMikey over on r/skyrim, they recently discovered that they can die in the tutorial area of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

“So I just started my 17th playthrough, and thought it would be fun to just not follow Hadvar or Ralof, and Alduin just bit me to death. Fun.”

It seems a pretty obvious series of events but one that not many of us have ever tried out. However, it is definitely one way to speedrun the game.

Although for user NoTheOtherAC, their playthrough ended even earlier.

“My first playthrough was even worse,” they shared.

“I missed the jump from the tower, landed in a fire, and burned to death before I could figure out how to jump out of it. My second attempt went much better.”

Another comment revealed another way to die in the game’s tutorial area.

“And you can actually die in the chopping block too. Couple times Alduin never spawned,” the user shared.

So it would seem as though Skyrim has its fair share of alternate endings but with the majority of players wanting to sink endless hours into the RPG, it would make sense that not all of them are known to us even a decade on.
