Thanks to the recent success of the Silent Hill 2 Remake back in 2024, the Silent Hill franchise is as popular as ever, especially with many remakes and originals expected to launch over the next couple of years.
It is hard to believe that it was back in 1999 that the Silent Hill franchise began when Silent Hill arrived on the PlayStation courtesy of Team Silent, a group within Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo.
Since then, the survival horror series has gone on to welcome many more instalments, both major and spin-offs, as well as books, movies, and arcade games.
In 2024, Silent Hill became a household game once more when Bloober Team released the Silent Hill 2 Remake which went on to sell over 2.5 million units by October whilst bagging itself multiple awards.

However, it is clear that fans love the fictional world as a whole as an original title, Silent Hill f, was released earlier this year and sold over 1 million copies in the first day after launch, making it the fastest-selling entry in the series.
With fans eager for more of the survival horror franchise, it seems as though their wish is about to be granted as a release date for Silent Hill: Townfall has been leaked.
Thanks to recent comments by Silent Hill series producer Motoi Okamoto, a remake of the original Silent Hill as well as a spin-off titled Silent Hill: Townfall, may be arriving as early as 2026.
According to the interview with Famitsu, the Konami team plans to release one Silent Hill title each year with this taking effect in 2024 with the release of the Silent Hill 2 Remake.

One Release Per Year
With Silent Hill f launching earlier this year, that means that the next instalment will arrive in 2026 and judging from current knowledge, this will either be the Silent Hill remake or Silent Hill: Townfall as they are the only two entries to have been formally announced.
However, Okamoto also revealed that there are "unannounced titles” in the mix which could lead to some spin-off launches in the meantime such as Silent Hill 2: Born From a Wish or The Short Message.
Despite Okamoto claiming that the team wants to "keep the buzz around Silent Hill constant”, releasing one title per year is still a hefty task.
That being said, Konami is working with multiple development teams across all upcoming launches: Bloober Team will work on the remakes, NeoBards is responsible for Silent Hill f, and British indie studio Screen Burn is in charge of Silent Hill: Townfall so it makes more sense that the docket is this jam-packed.
So, we definitely know that a Silent Hill release is on the cards for 2026 but whether this is the Silent Hill Remake, Silent Hill: Townfall or a completely separate spin-off title altogether remains to be seen.
That being said, one French site previously claimed that Townfall would be launching on 26 March 2026, so perhaps this is the likelier of the two upcoming games to launch first.
