Silent Hill F announced, teases new direction for franchise

Silent Hill F announced, teases new direction for franchise

Konami has announced Silent Hill F - a whole new game in the series, in development by NeoBards Entertainment.

Had enough Silent Hill yet? Of course you’ve not, that’s why you’re here. Tonight (19 October), during the Silent Hill Transmission, as well as the announcement of a Silent Hill 2 remake and an intriguing new live Silent Hill experience called Silent Hill: Ascension, Konami had one more surprise up their sleeve.

Right at the end of the presentation, fans were given their first glimpse of Silent Hill F - an entirely new Silent Hill game which is coming soon. How soon isn’t known, as no release date has been given, but it’s looking really promising.

Take a look at the official trailer for Silent Hill F right here.

No gameplay footage was shown, but there’s a lot to try and decipher from the trailer. The whole thing also looks pretty dang different from the usual Silent Hill vibe - it appears that F could be taking the series in a new direction. This is pure speculation, however, as details are still so limited.

What's more, the game is being developed by NeoBards Entertainment - the team has worked on a number of Resident Evil games, including Resident Evil: Resistance and the new-gen versions of Resident Evil 2, 3 and 7. So, it's safe to say that they know their way around a spooky title, although it'll be interesting to see how they handle Silent Hill.

What's more, the game is being directed by none other than Motoi Okamoto - now a producer at Konami, he previously worked for Nintendo on titles including Super Mario 64 DS, New Super Mario Bros., and Pikmin. Talk about a change of tone, huh?

Unfortunately, that's pretty much all we know about this new title for now - it's not been confirmed what platforms it'll be released on, but if the Silent Hill 2 remake is anything to go by, PS5 is probably a pretty safe bet, and maybe even PC, too. We'll just have to stay tuned for more info.
