Yesterday was quite a shock to the system. Konami announced the return of Silent Hill by revealing four new games. That’s right, four. The big talking point was Bloober Team’s remake of Silent Hill 2 but we’ve also got Silent Hill: Ascension, Silent Hill: Townfall, and the intriguing Silent Hill f to look forward to.

Film director Christophe Gans is also returning to helm new film Return To Silent Hill which is inspired by the plot of Silent Hill 2. How many times can I say Silent Hill in the space of one article? We’re about to find out. Back to the Silent Hill 2 remake, it’s now been revealed that players will be able to explore the entire town with no loading screens.

Take a look at the trailer for the Silent Hill 2 remake below.

The Silent Hill 2 remake will feature seamless gameplay, much like God of War for example. As players transition between cutscenes and gameplay or between various areas, there will be no loading screens, Bloober Team has confirmed.

Over on the PlayStation Blog, creative director and lead designer Mateusz Lenart explained that the PlayStation 5s “superfast data streaming means players won’t see any loading screens as they seamlessly explore the entirety of the Silent Hill town." He also added that devs were utilising the PS5s haptic feedback and 3D audio capabilities "to make Silent Hill 2 an even more harrowing and unforgettable experience for fans old and new.”

In case you missed it, the Silent Hill 2 remake will be a timed PlayStation console exclusive. After 12 months, the game can then be released on other consoles. The game will also launch on PC which is unaffected.
