Elder Scrolls Meets Bloodborne In Gorgeous Upcoming RPG

An exciting combo

With no new Elder Scrolls or Bloodborne games in sight any time soon (if you don't count upcoming FromSoftware Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive The Duskbloods), we have to look elsewhere to get our video game kicks.

Fortunately, developers all over the world are hard at work doing their best to bring us as many options as possible, and there are plenty of games on the way that should scratch that same itch.

With 2026 already looking absolutely stacked if we don't get loads of delays (we're looking at you GTA VI), there are some more under the radar picks that could put their head above the parapet when they do release.

Shores of Vaelithar is A Pure Dark Fantasy RPG

One promising prospect is upcoming dark fantasy action RPG, Shores of Vaelithar.

When distilled down to its basics, the game pitches itself as sword and sorcery, with a deep tome of lore to uncover as you work through.

In the developers own words, you are, "Cast forsaken upon the Shores of Vaelithar, you are but a hapless villager thrust into this dark, unforgiving world to bear the spark of fate."

They add: "Ride across epic landscapes to fight terrible foes, conquer the storm-swept mountain and the great dragon that guards its peaks, unearth sacred relics to forge legendary weapons and join with friends or compete with rival heroes in an expansive procedural endgame dungeon experience."

Those endgame co-op experiences could really set the aim apart from its immediate peers.

Skyrim fans will know all too well the struggle of installing multiplier mods to allow us to play with friends and having it as an inbuilt part of the game is a huge plus 4 players.

Though you start the game as a simple villager, you will be able to spec into the game's class system, which features the holy trinity of Warrior, Wizard and Rogue.

You'll learn skills from ancient tomes within the game, improving as you go to make taking tough enemies out that little bit easier.

The last major feature detailed on the Steam page for the game, at this early stage, is legendary weapon forging, which also seems to be a skill based system that you'll work through as you go.

The only downside at this point is that the game doesn't have a confirmed release date just yet, so it might be a way away.

Fingers crossed we get to see it at some point in 2026.
