Resident Evil Requiem has finally dropped a free download that fans have been asking for before its release in February 2026.
Judging by the quality of games that have already been released this year, 2026 looks to have a great chance of being even better than the epic 2023, which saw the likes of Baldur’s Gate 3, the Resident Evil 4 remake and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
So far in 2026, GAMINGbible has already seen a plethora of 10/10’s, including Forza Horizon 6, Pokémon Pokopia, and LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, to name a few. We’re just days away from May coming to an end, which will leave us with six months for even more 10/10 potentials.
One other game that scored a worthy 10/10 is Capcom’s aforementioned latest release in its iconic survival horror series, Resident Evil Requiem. If, for whatever reason, you’ve been going all itchy, tasty, wanting to see what the fuss is about before parting with your hard-earned cash, now is your chance.

The free Resident Evil Requiem demo is available to download across all platforms. The demo allows you to play through the early stages of the game as Grace Ashcroft after she awakens in the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center.
This demo is what many of you would have seen in the pre-release previews, and it’s a great introduction to the very horror-focused campaign of Grace Ashcroft, alongside Leon S. Kennedy’s more action-focused campaign. Sadly, Leon is not playable in the demo. It’s also worth noting that your progress in the demo does not carry over into the full game.
“Three months too late,” said Lssassindark891.
“Very strategic releasing the demo AFTER the game!” replied BrendinniiTV.
“The demo is supposed to be released before the full game,” exclaimed OlTexa. “That's the point of a demo, Mr Capcom.”
Many Resident Evil fans have a point; in most cases, Capcom releases a demo before the game's release, as seen with the 2019 remake of Resident Evil 2.
I’d assume that Capcom knew that it had a big hit on its hands and probably never released a pre-launch demo for Resident Evil Requiem, which would garner enough intrigue that players were willing to buy the game without the need of checking out a demo. Plus, this demo now serves a purpose for those on the fence.
Resident Evil Requiem is out now on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.
