Resident Evil fans say that the new Requiem DLC is “unhinged”, but to be honest, I just need it right now.

After waiting five years for a brand new game in Capcom’s iconic survival horror series (not including the 2023 remake of Resident Evil 4), Resident Evil Requiem did not disappoint and has been well worth the wait.

At the time of writing, Resident Evil Requiem has scored a very impressive 88 on the aggregate website Metacritic and 89 on OpenCritic, recommended by 95% of reviewers.

Resident Evil Requiem Is a Masterpiece!

“As a horror game in its own right, Resident Evil Requiem is a very solid nine out of ten, but as a passionate fan of the series, it earns an additional bonus point thanks to the attention to detail and craft that’s gone into every pore of this game,” I wrote in my review, scoring it my first 10/10.

Will Resident Evil Requiem Be Your First Game in the Series?

In 2025, Resident Evil Requiem producer Masato Kumazawa said that it’s a game for returning fans and newcomers. Adding “I don’t want people to feel they have to do their homework to fully appreciate this game.”

However, in my humble opinion, while the above statement might be true in some respect, I believe jumping into Resident Evil Requiem as your first entry in the series would be a mistake, and I explained why.

Lady Dimitrescu Is in Resident Evil Requiem!

Well, kinda. Lady Dimitrescu is in Resident Evil Requiem, but as a Grace Ashcroft costume DLC that’s included in the Deluxe Edition version of the game.

Lady D is the very memorable villain from 2021’s Resident Evil Village.

The Deluxe Edition also includes one other costume for Grace, three Leon S. Kennedy costumes, screen filters, weapon skins, weapon charms, a classic Raccoon City audio pack, and ‘Letters from 1998’.

If you pick up the physical version, you also get a snazzy steelbook case.

“What are your thoughts on these? I think they’re all really cool,” asked Redditor marxthedank, sparking conversation about the DLC costumes in question.

“Lady Dimitrescu for Grace is so unhinged. I pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition almost solely for that,” replied MaximusMurkimus.

“LADY DIMITRESCU FOR GRACE LMAO,” yelled Jaded-Throat-211.

“Dont let Markiplier see the Lady Domitrescu costume, please!” exclaimed DisastrousFeature509.

“The Lady D outfit WORKS for Grace... Hell, it works for anyone who wears it,” declared GringoSwann.

Resident Evil Requiem releases tomorrow, Friday, 27 February, on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.
