New details have seemingly leaked regarding the Resident Evil Requiem DLC, and while I’m not mad about this rumour, I might end up feeling disappointed if true.
At the end of February, the long-awaited ninth major entry in the Resident Evil series arrived, and boy, it did not disappoint. In a nutshell, Resident Evil Requiem was a blast from start to finish and is already my strong contender for the 2026 Game of the Year.
“As a horror game in its own right, Resident Evil Requiem is a very solid nine out of ten, but as a passionate fan of the series, it earns an additional bonus point thanks to the attention to detail and craft that’s gone into every pore of this game,” I said in my review.
Could Resident Evil Requiem DLC Already Be on the Way?
In November 2025, rumours were making the rounds that Capcom had already begun development on DLC for Resident Evil Requiem, as reported by video game industry insider Dusk Golem.
At the time, there were no details on the rumoured DLC in terms of what story it would tell or who would be its starring characters.
Advert
Dusk Golem is back with an update on the rumoured DLC and who its leading character might be.
In a series of tweets, he explains that he’s heard that there is a playable version of Alyssa Ashcroft, Grace’s mother from Resident Evil Requiem.
He suggested that she could be playable in the rumoured DLC; however, he also heard that the playable lead in what is expected to be story DLC will be Leon S. Kennedy. If that proves to be true, I might feel a little underwhelmed.
Now, before you come at me, I love Leon, and I absolutely loved his story in Resident Evil Requiem, but with how that story ended, it felt like any DLC would be setting up a return of another iconic character from the series.
There is even a suggestion that the Aylssa Aschcroft character model could be used in other post-launch content.
It’s not suggested what that could be, but it would be awesome if she had a story leading up to the events of Requiem, or even a survival challenge mode, similar to what we had in the Resident Evil 2 remake.
As always, all unconfirmed rumours should be taken with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise.
When we get a confirmed update from Capcom, we’ll be sure to let you know right away.
