Horror fans should be preparing themselves for more Resident Evil remakes and remasters, as it has been rumoured that more are on the way from Capcom.

There’s no doubting the impact the Resident Evil franchise has had on games, from the original zombie-infested mansion, to the creepy village haunted by supernatural vampiric ladies.

Is a Resident Evil 5 remaster on the cards for Capcom?

If you’re new to the franchise, it can be daunting trawling through the many releases and finding simple ways to play them on modern systems.

Thankfully, Capcom has been slowly remaking the classics and remastering the gems that should be played by everyone.

Now, according to Bishop89 on ResetEra, new ESRB ratings have been spotted for upcoming Resident Evil releases.

The new rating points to a release of Resident Evil Revelations, a title that many fans have wanted to see get some love for many years.

This news comes hot on the heels of ratings for other games in the series, notably Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6.

There are already ports available for these games and many others, so could we be looking at remasters that will expand the games and improve the visuals?

Or are we looking at more remakes that will extensively change key parts of the story and action?

With several games getting through ESRB ratings, we could soon see a huge Resident Evil event that showcases a collection of titles coming to modern consoles, and PC.

Personally, I want an excuse to replay Resident Evil 5 as it’s a favourite of mine, despite its quality compared to other entries.

I used to speedrun it co-operatively with a close friend, and it would be great to try again.

Fans each have their own favourite from the series, and perhaps by the end of this year we’ll have more ways to play these amazing games.
