Resident Evil fans got the biggest shock during Summer Games Fest when they were told one minute that the ninth game in the series wouldn’t be debuting for some time, only to have the rug pulled out from beneath them with a gorgeous trailer to close the show.
From this moment, players began speculating on ties between the trailer and past games; social media was ablaze with thrilled comments; and it felt like Resident Evil was making waves again.
This joy is now manifesting as wishlists over on Steam, as Capcom announced that Resident Evil Requiem has received over one million wishlists since it was revealed on Steam.

One million wishlists is a huge milestone. Of course, it doesn’t guarantee sales, but we already know that the game will release and scoop up millions in sales over the first week.
It helps for Capcom to know there’s demand beyond hype from their trailer, and knowing that over a million people want to keep an eye on the game, on just PC, is a great start.
The milestone was revealed on Twitter, with the company thanking fans by saying, “Requiem for the dead. Nightmare for the over one million of you who wishlisted #ResidentEvilRequiem! Thank you!”
Wishlisting a game on Steam is one of the major ways to support upcoming games, whether that’s a big AAA game or an indie gem.

Fans have made it clear they can’t wait until the ninth mainline game in the series, which looks to break from several traditions in the history of the game, while linking to one of the spin-offs in the new main character.
This hasn’t stopped the die-hard fans from wondering if we’ll have a return from the floppy haired Leon Kennedy, who would certainly insert a little start power into the fray.
