Resident Evil meets Call Of Duty in awesome new horror-shooter

Contain looks to be a horror delight for fans of Resident Evil and Call of Duty

When it comes to popular video game franchises two of the leaders of the pack are Resident Evil and Call of Duty, for very different reasons of course.

For starters, Resident Evil is arguably the most popular survival horror franchise and Call of Duty is arguably the most popular FPS franchise, though it would be fair to remove the word “arguably” from both statements. So, if we could blend both of those genres we would get something like F.E.A.R or more recently, Contain which is coming to Steam very soon.

Check out the Contain trailer below!

Developed and published by indie studio SinginGiant: “Contain is a first-person cooperative tactical shooter, but if you like you can play as a Lone Wolf. There is an organization that directs many task forces that are trying to control objects of supernatural origin that have fallen from space. The story centres on a special task force,” reads the description of the game. Contain can also be played on your lonesome if you fail to get a squad together.

Contain is said to feature in-depth character customisation as well as weapons and gear in the hope of obtaining the perfect loadout to fight the good fight against evil. It also comes with a ‘Blood Violence and Strong Language’ content warning, which is a delight for fans of the horror genre. Judging by its gameplay trailers, Contain looks like it could be a lot of fun.

However, Contain is not quite released yet, but it will become available on Steam on early access from 16 January 2024. You can add it to your Steam wishlist so that you can be instantly notified of its availability. Hopefully, if Contain proves to be a success, it will eventually make its way to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will full cross-play support.
