Just when you thought that you’d seen all that the Resident Evil series has to offer, it only goes and gets a Universal Studios theme park attraction.

Even since the Resident Evil series launched in 1996 and took us to the Spencer Mansion to uncover our first Umbrella Corp conspiracy, the iconic Capcom survival horror series has garnered a legion of passionate fans who eagerly await the next entry.

Check out the Resident Evil 4 remake trailer below!

The last game to be released in the series was the 2023 remake of Resident Evil 4. In our review of Resident Evil 4, we said, “The gameplay is better than in the original title - even with its limitations - while the changes and new additions bring a new lease of life of their own. The redesigned characters are striking, with some excellent voice acting to sell the dialogue”.

Recently, Capcom announced that it was working on the next game in the series with the indication that it will be Resident Evil 9. However, some fans will be hoping that we’ll get a remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica or even the multiplayer co-op title, Resident Evil Outbreak.

That being said, if you're after something a little different from the series, Universal Studios in Japan is getting Biohazard: Night of Heroes for the Halloween season from 6 September to 4 November 2024. In case you didn't know, the Resident Evil series is called Biohazard in the Land of the Rising Sun.

”You’ve become lost in a long-abandoned Umbrella research facility,” reads the description of Biohazard: Night of Heroes. “A lab where viruses that turn human beings into zombies and other bioorganic weapons were developed, it’s now become an uncontrolled area writhing with countless zombies and other creatures. Along with Claire, Chris, Leon, and Jill, who’ve arrived on the scene, can you survive the zombie hordes and hellish terror?”

It sounds like a thrilling experience if you're brave enough to face what it has to offer. So, do you?
